The unknown purpose of the universe – Atheist Nexus

I’ve *never* believed that human beings themselves are the reason for the existence of the universe. It’s a preposterous supposition given what a tiny scrap of snail shit we are in the vast splendor of what we know to exist. Humanity is as significant to the universe as a snail turd is to Mt. Everest.

But the idea that humanity is a precondition for the emergence of some ever more advanced form? Now that is an interesting thought!

What if human beings then are not themselves the reason for the existence of the universe? Could it be that we exist as a precondition for the emergence of some even more advanced form of life that we can hardly even imagine?
