Well this is very sad. Salman Rushdie, author of The Satanic Verses got some threats and, therefore, withdrew from participation in a Literary Festival held in India.
Defying the organizers of the festival, Hari Kunzru and Amitava Kumar read from The Satanic Verses, then Jeet Thayil and Ruchir Joshi joined them.
